Meet the team
Abe Cambridge
A former climate change scientist, Abe left academia to work on the solutions to climate change. Abe now specialises in solar PV system design and performs feasibility studies for renewable energy projects. He works alongside our customer service and site survey team, making sure that systems are designed with the client's best interests in mind and accurate quotes are prepared. Abe is a co-founder and a Director of the Renewable Energy Co-operative.
Natasha Davey-Diop
Natasha is a graduate in French from King's College London. She is fluent in French and qualified as an English teacher in 2005. Natasha spent 3 years teaching and volunteering in Senegal, West Africa. Natasha joined R-ECO in 2009 and, with her wealth of communication skills, as well as teaching experience, has helped to transform the co-operative into the thriving business it is today. Natasha now works part-time as our HR Operative and oversees Customer Service operations.
Stuart Major
Stuart is a member of R-ECO having previously established a solar thermal and biomass boiler installation business. Stuart looks after financial matters including your deposits. Stuart is a director of a co-operative developing co-operatively-owned community solar PV systems on buildings on community buildings. He holds a M.Eng. in Process Engineering from Imperial College, London.
He was a founder member and director of Reading's True Food Community Co-operative, a community owned organic food business in Reading which recently won 'Best Retail Initiative' at the BBC Food & Farming awards. Stuart also successfully ran a community lead healthy eating project for the co-op.
Sarah Bond
Sarah has extensive experience in customer service, having spent 2 years in the leisure industry prior to joining R-ECO. She is currently working as a customer service representative, looking after clients and making sure that their needs are communicated to the technical and design team.
Babacar Diop
Babacar is a Director and Founder member of R-ECO. He is a PV qualified electrician who has extensive experience in the installation of all types of solar PV. Babacar is at the forefront of R-ECO activity, Site Manager of all of our domestic installations and scheduling all R-ECO jobs. Babacar prides himself on being a perfectionist and, with the team of like-minded installers, produces immaculate solar arrays and happy clients.
In his spare time, Babacar (known to colleagues as Baba) enjoys spending time at the beach with his family, playing football for a local team and entertaining his children with his guitar playing!
Andy Tellam
A graduate from the University of Exeter, Andy joined
the co-operative in January 2011 under the Unlocking Cornish Potential scheme.
Andy now specialises in system design, optimising and implementing PV systems, working alongside our customer service team to ensure that the client receives the best possible system design for their needs. Andy is also currently working on an in-house project to redesign our Quality Management System, which defines the way that R-ECO works. This behind-the-scenes work is vital in ensuring that the quality of our work remains consistent, and clients happy.
Shane Bond
Shane has over 30 years experience in the building industry working on large construction sites. He is an experienced solar installer, having managed PV sites for the last 4 years. Shane currently works in commercial sales, and is our contact for our larger scale installations, following the project through to the design stage, ensuring that the commercial client gets exactly what they need from their renewable energy system. He is also part of our procurement team, building up relationships with suppliers, ordering equipment and making sure that it arrives safely in the hands of the Site Manager. Shane is co-founder and a Director of the Renewable Energy Co-operative.
Damian Hicks
Damian is a founder member of R-ECO and currently working as an installer and procurement operative. Damian has extensive roofing experience, and over 4 years' experience in solar installations. This experience, coupled with an excellent work ethic and a supportive team, ensures that the work delivered on site is of a consistently high standard. Damian is also one of our procurement operatives, there to ensure all equipment is ordered accurately and delivered on time, and that the job runs as smoothly as possible.
John Edwards
John is an experienced solar installer and roofing expert. As well as installing Solar PV, John also acts as our roofing advisor and is involved with re-roofing projects from the design, right through to the on-site delivery, where he ensures that your renewable energy system does not compromise the intergrity of your roof.
John is also a (sometimes too) keen off-road mountain biker.
Pat Hammond
An experienced electrician Pat is familiar working with large industirial systems or domestic installations.
Pat is also an experienced training professional.
Geoff Fairman
Born and bred in Cornwall, Geoff has a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology from the University of Leeds. He is experienced in managing technical projects following an 8 year tenure in research and development with local firm Allen & Heath UK, and has recently managed several building projects.
Geoff is here to help the company expand it's business operations and growth into new areas of renewable energy as well as ensure and improve the efficiency of current operations wherever possible.
As one of our procurement operatives, Geoff is there to ensure all equipment is ordered accurately and delivered on time, and that our PV installations run as smoothly as possible.
