Each of our members started off as a specialist in their respective trade, having previously worked with and developed a passion for renewable energy.

Our wealth of experience has equipped us with the ability to overcome any challenge that can occur during an installation, making sure we deliver the project on time and to budget

Damian Hicks

Role: Procurement Manager

Profile: Damian has worked on many bespoke private and  industrial building projects.  He started his own successful building business with a  view to expanding into the renewable energy industry. After sub-contracting for a then major  photovoltaics installation company,  Damian is a co-founder and a Director of the Renewable Energy Co-operative.

Abe Cambridge

Role: Commercial and Technical Manager

Profile: A former climate change scientist, Abe left academia to work on the solutions to climate change. Abe now specialises in solar PV system design and performs feasibility studies for renewable energy projects. Abe is  co-founder and a Director of the Renewable Energy Co-operative.

Natasha Diop

Role: Customer Relations Manager

Profile: Natasha has a background in communications, drives our customer led approach.  She is fluent speaker of French and Wolof.

Iain Wardman

Role: Member

Profile: Iain has 20 year experience in the manufacturing environment for blue chip companies. More recently he has gained 4 years experience in the renewable technologies sector.  Iain can conduct Commercial Energy Performance Assessments, Design, Install & Commission Air Source Heat Pumps, Part L energy efficiency, Design, Install & Commission Biomass boilers (HETAS) and Design, Install & Commission Solar Thermal (hot water systems).  He is also a Quality Systems and Environmental Systems implementer.

Stuart Major

Role: Business Development

Profile: Stuart had previously established a solar thermal and biomass boiler installation business. He  also has a background in community businesses having been a founder member of Reading's True Food Community Co-operative.

Babacar Diop

Role: Electrician

Profile: Babacar is a specialist solar PV electrician. He has installed and worked on the electrics of systems from the small and simple to the large and complex and everything in between. Babacar is a co-founder of the Renewable Energy Co-operative.

Shane Bond

Role: Project Manager

Profile: Shane has over 30 years experience in the building industry working on large construction sites. Shane started as an apprentice roofer and went on to become a master slater and tiler.  He worked his way up through the building industry moving in to project management and then onto contract managment and finally in to quality control.  Shane is also experienced in running multi-million pound construction projects.  Shane went on to project manage in 2008 what was then the largest integrated photo-voltaic roofing system in the UK for a  major installer of photovoltaics.   Shane is  co-founder and a Director of the Renewable Energy Co-operative.
